“SENTIDO DO GOSTO & GOSTO COM SENTIDO”

José Bento dos Santos is a chemical engineer, metal broker and is also a producer of internationally prestigious wines from his Quinta do Monte d’Oiro. He is President of the Portuguese Academy of Gastronomy, has also presided over the International Academy of Gastronomy and is a member of the Académie des Psycologues du Goût, Chevalier du Tastevin, Chevalier des Entonneurs Rabelaisiens, Knight of the Confraternity of Port Wine and Gastronomic Adviser of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, having already received several national and international decorations. When he was a university professor, he published numerous articles and several books on gastronomy and wines. He regularly gives conferences on these topics, in Portugal and abroad, coordinating several initiatives and programs to promote national gastronomy. He was also the author and presenter of the television series “Segredos do Vinho” (SIC) and “O Sentido do Gosto” (RTP).
