Dinner-Concert Gilsons

Founded in 2018, the Gilsons brings together Francisco, João, and José Gil, who were born and raised in the world of music. By blending influences from pop rock, samba, reggae, and Bahian rhythms, the group also pays tribute to the classic MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) of their father and grandfather, Gilberto Gil.

The band quickly rose to prominence with its fresh and innovative style, honoring Brazilian musical roots while exploring new sounds. After a series of releases — including the hits “Várias Queixas” and “Devagarinho” — the band launched their first album, Pra Gente Acordar, in 2022. That same year, it was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for “Best Portuguese-Language Contemporary Pop Album”.

Following the 2023 releases of “Bateu” and “Céu Rosé,” João, José, and Francisco teamed up with BaianaSystem and Tropkillaz on the single “Presente.” In 2024, Gilsons released “Feito a Maré” (in partnership with Jota.pê), “ME LIGA” (with Murilo Chester), and “Bebê.” In 2025, the group is set for a North American tour and will continue to bring Brazilian music to audiences around the world.
